Get the policy with Geico in force FIRST.... call & set it up & pay the down payment...

THEN call Progressive & see what they need to cancel - possibly a signature - but more $ will not be necessary

Seems simple to me...you have a ticket on your record and you've had a stolen bike claim.

Your current insurance will not be informed that you are researching other insurance quotes and/or discover your speeding tickets from that process. Your insurance company will probably discover your speeding tickets about 60 days before your renewal (most insurance companies do this). If you are currently insured by a standard company, it is very likely that your insurance will be cancelled at that time or you will at least have a large rate increase.

In terms of some of the other comments regarding credit, neither of the comments are correct. Insurance companies pull what is called an insurance score which is a numerical formula based on your credit. However, it is not a credit report. The insurance company does not use this to determine if you are insurance "worthy" or to determine your payment plan. According to actuarial science the better insurance scores translate to the better risks and the more impaired scores translate into higher risk profiles. Stated another way--on average clients who have impaired insurance scores produce more claims. Therefore the insurance companies use the insurance scores as one of the factors (other factors would be your driving record, accident record, mileage, type of car, etc.) that allow them to adequately price the risk to produce a profit.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Hmmm.... Odd....

I did a quote on Progressive Insurance and I did a 600cc bike (so as every bike I thought I would get, ended up getting a 125cc and paid $200.00 for a year) and it basically said the same price and I'm 18 yo and a beginner... Around $300.00 but it would defiinitely go up if you are going to finalize the deal.

Factors are:
1.) Bike Condition (New, Used, Year, Salvaged, Mileage, History, Modification)
2.) Rider condition (Accidents, Tickets, Basically your history... more importantly the experience)
3.) Location (Northern part of US would be more cheaper than riding in Florida, California, Texas....)
4.) Type of Insurance (Full coverage, part coverage)

So you probably live in a place somewhere in the South with a bike that is pretty darn new. You might have a perfect record but that's a different story(would give you a small amount of discount).

Yes , it's normal...........seems that high credit risks are associated with bad driving..........for the life of me, I don't understand their logic .....don't worry, it's done all the time.......

I don't know why? but they are! weird huh. My buddy is 36 and has been riding for a bunch of years and got his for like $110 a year! THAT'S CRAZY! He keeps telling me to switch I'm sure I will soon.
I assume because they are such a big Company that it makes it easier to give better quotes. kinda like, why sell a few policy's a day for $300 when they can 20 policy's for half that and still make big bucks! I don't know just my thought on it anyways.
