How To Keep Health Insurance Coverage 100%

Only 5% of employers in the U.S. still offer 100% coverage for their employees’ health insurance benefits. Other employers are choosing high copay plans or high deductible plans. Most others are passing their increase in health care costs on to their employees.

Fact: Health Care Premiums are rising faster than workers wages

Premiums for employer-sponsored health insurance rose an average of 6.1 percent in 2007, less than the 7.7 percent increase reported last year but still higher than the increase in workers’ wages (3.7 percent) and the overall inflation rate (2.6 percent), according to the 2007 Employer Health Benefits Survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research and Educational Trust.

The 6.1 percent average increase this year was the slowest rate of premium growth since 1999, when premiums rose 5.3 percent. Since 2001, premiums for family coverage have increased 78 percent, while wages have increased 19 percent and inflation has increased 17 percent.

The average premium for family coverage in 2007 is $12,106. On average, workers now pay $3,281 out of their paychecks to cover their share of the cost of a family policy. While premiums continue to rise faster than wages, this year’s gap of 2.4 percentage points is much smaller than the 10.9 percentage point gap recorded four years ago, when premiums rose 13.9 percent and

wages grew just 3 percent. (Agent Sales Journal Nov. 2007)

Lets Keep it 100% coverage and reduce the premiums

This is a strategy from Easy To Insure Me .com

We will use 2 equations for a 15-employee group: Current and Future Solution

Equation 1 Current

15 employees

(Yearly Premium) $100,000=Health Care

Equation 2 Future Solution

(Yearly Premium) $60,000 + $15,000 (employees x deductibles) = $75,000 maximum exposure

100% coverage and the employer pays for the deductible

while still saving 20% to 40%

**We say maximum exposure because not all employees will satisfy the deductible

Help answer the question about health insurance

What health insurance plans cover toenail fungus medication and nail removal surgery?
Hi,

I suffer from toenail fungus, and I've tried ALL home remedies available without success. I'm also about to buy health insurance. I thought I would take this opportunity to finally visit the doctor and get rid of this problem. My questions are:

1. Which health insurance plans offer the best coverage to treat toenail fungus?
2. Do they cover the medication and the surgery required in some cases to remove the toenail?

Thank you for all your help!

Excellent presentation of what our government is doing. Common sense seems to be completely lost within the greed.

disregard the fear, think outside the box. We need to start from scratch. I have the best health insurance available and I am an advocate of universal single payer health care. I lose nothing by trashing my plan and going to universal health care. Oh wait, I lose high premiums, fear of not always being able to afford my insurance, and my concern over my uninsured friends and family. We do not need health insurance, we need health care. They are not the same thing.

They would definitely shrink, but they would still be around. Look at Medicare, they have supplement polices which the individual has to pay. If you think the government is going to pay for Heart surgery, Cancer treatment, you're in for a rude awakening.

Well, if she's 40 and perfectly healthy, it's going to cost her about $500 a month to have a low/no deductible plan that covers checkups.

You BUY it on a month to month basis. If you want low monthly payments, you have to cut the coverage – like take a $10,000 deductible. Or higher. That would cut payments down to maybe $200 a month or less.

The older she is, the less healthy she is, the more it costs.

Your best bet, is to find a local, independent agent, who can help you balance cost with coverage.

    1) It depends on where you live.
    2) No the premium does not apply to the deductible, neither do copays.
    3) Very rarely. Why would you want to?
    4) Yes. Preexisting conditions.

It is so encouraging to see so many people post comments here in favor of single payer. There may be hope for the USA after all. Thank you! Please keep the discussion going with your friends and neighbors.

  7. PublicHealthDoctor Says:

This isn’t a left-wing, right-wing or democrat-republican issue. This also is not a rich-poor issue, since most uninsured American are NOT in poverty. This is an American issue. This is about whether we feel that medical care is a right or a privilege. Do we value all American lives, or just the ones that can afford care?

If the USA continues to believe the later, then we are NOT a great nation. Great nations defend their citizens; both militarily and with medical care.

  8. PublicHealthDoctor Says:

As a physician, I would gladly accept a pay cut and higher taxes if it meant I would NEVER have to worry about losing health care. In reality, I would likely save money in the long term with a government plan. All it takes is ONE illness to throw a well-insured patient into bankruptcy (due to co-pays).

  9. PublicHealthDoctor Says:

This is a terrific discussion. I hope everyone that visits this page takes the time to watch them whole presentation and then research the matter more for themselves.

The United States stands alone among all of the developed nations in NOT offering medical care to all of it’s citizens. We need to stop being selfish and realize that it is okay for us to care about each other and actually take care of each other.

Well it is not that people working in dental insurance
companies are any different than the people working
in health insurance or life insurance or car insurance
companies. It is just that the dental insurance per se
does not make much business sense these days, so it needs
to be augmented with exclusion clauses in the policy,
with waiting periods, and annual limits. This annoys
the dentists and the consumers as the question
    illustrates. There are more sensible
alternatives to dental insurance that make more business
sense and are basically based on negotiating or
pre-negotiating lower costs for the participants.

Because they plan to deny coverage when the first claim is made.

  12. zpoetress Says:

She should visit a local independent agent. The agent works with most of the plans available in her area and can work with her to find the best plan for her situation and budget. The plans and premiums are exactly the same whether she uses the agent of buys directly from the company. Also, if she has pre-existing conditions or is out of the height and weight guidelines she might get declined. The agent can help find a company that will accept her.

  13. bpartoens Says:

The for profit health care system currently operating(not very well might I interject), is a racket shouldered by the middle class so the elite and many of our elected officials can profit.

And Max, may I add to your closing statement, single payer is not at the table because they did not pay you for a seat. Max, we know what you are, how much does a seat at the table cost. Put a red light outside your office Max, might as well advertise your services.

Health insurance can be very tricky. Since I live in North Carolina I'm not familiar with the Texas laws and regulations, so I recommend you call a nearby health insurance agent. http://www.americaschoicetoday.com/Health-Insurance.html They will be able to assist you.

It is far from failing in either of those nations. Turn off Fox News and turn off your AM talk radio and start reviewing more scholarly resources. Perhaps go take a sociology class in health and illness at the local university.

From my professional experience, people like you that oppose government-supported health care are the ones that are generally healthy and never need it. Once I diagnose people like you with metastatic cancer and you lose your insurance, your opinion always changes.
