How to Schedule an Interview by Selena Brown of HelpingThruBizTV

Man is a social animal and we all know we cannot live without groups. We are born as a group, grow up as a group, work as a group and also live as a group. This is the latest in terms of dental insurance – a dental group insurance plan.

A dental group insurance plan is the preferred dental plan for most. A large group of dentists are there to provide you the much needed dental health protection. If you have already made a wrong choice and are currently hunting for a better plan then there is nothing better than this one.

By getting this, you are allowing yourselves greater freedom. The main freedom is in the form of the dentist himself; you can choose anyone you like. You even end up saving a lot of money! These dentists are covered in the plan to the maximum extent. How much more could you ask for?

MetLife is a great example of a dental insurance company which offers their members and customers this great group plan coverage. A lifetime of benefits is what follows you! A wide choice of dentists to choose from. You could even go to dentists that are not a part of the group. These dentists are also covered but not like the dentists within the group plan.

Most policies include this plan. If you have never tried this before, this is the time. The best of benefits and the greatest of freedom and mobility are offered by these plans. You can find this group plan and its great benefits at any major dental insurance company and you will instantly enjoy the freedom and benefits that come with it.

So what are you waiting for, head straight to your agent and check for these plans. For its now or never. Remember, a stitch in time saves nine.

This rox… Thank you very much.

  2. kayak Says:

Metlife only sells dental through employers. Ameritas is the best individual plan…generally I don't say 'best' for insurance, but in the dental world there AREN'T that many to be able to make that claim.

Its the most popular on my site.

    Hello to you, too! :)

Dental implants are not a covered expense with insurance companies, Met Life included. Log on to MetLife and you should be able to find a participating dentist in your area…this will at least help with the 'regular' work you need.

    Good luck~

Metlife has a website– Mybenefits.Metlife.com and you can go on and see what your policy covers, on mine it covers them for patients up to 20 years old and 50 % of cost not to excede 1500 dollars. that seems to be a standard policy.

  5. minie Says:

Ask them to request a pre-treatment estimate from MetLife. Then you'll know approximately how much you'll have to pay out-of-pocket.

Just because your annual maximum is $1500 doesn't mean that MetLife will pay the first $1500… their payments are based on 'usual and customary' fees and will only pay a percentage on certain procedures…

    Good luck to you.

    :)

Okay, first it depends on where you live, if you login to your metlife account you should be able to pull up your package, and it should tell you what the max charge should be from your Dr. office. Then you'd need to know what % they pay of the treatment. Did you get a written estimate from the Dr. office for what they will be charging you? If you did then use that to calulate your copay. If you have a deductible then you need to subtract that from the total first then multiply that number times the % that metlife pays. That will give you the total that your Dr. office will get from the insurance company, (as long as it doesn;t go over the max.) The remaining amount is your out of pocket costs. I can't give you specifics because every area has different fees for the procedures

  7. ahkaster Says:

The claim for the extractions will be sent to Met Life first.. if the wisdom teeth are what's called 'boney impactions', then the claim can be sent to BC/BS for coordination of benefits… the 'boney impactions' are covered under your medical insurance….

    Best of luck~

  8. purpple Says:

They both have wisdom teeth extraction coverage but it depends on what plan you are on. Both insurance companies have hundreds of dental plans…all differing from the other. In my experience Metlife seems to have the better coverage but I would check with your specific plan to see what they offer.

  9. CC Says:

Many MetLife Dental plans cover ortho. When your employer buys the package, they can select whether or not to add that benefit.
Most often, it is not the insurance provider, but the employer who decides what is or is not covered. Ask your HR person, or whoever administers your health plan.

I have MetLife through my employer too! It is not a reimbursement plan. If you're going in for a cleaning, it should be covered at 100%, and your dentist office will not charge you anything. I just had my cleaning appt in November, 1st time with this insurance, and it was totally free. I did have to pay $15 for the prescription toothpaste they gave me, because that's not covered by insurance. But I wasn't charged for the cleaning, bitewings, etc.

If you need fillings or anything that isn't covered at 100% at a later appointment, they will charge you the portion that you are responsible for, and bill the rest to your insurance. If there's a difference later, you'll get a bill from Metlife for it.

Just make sure you go with a dentist that is part of their plan, you can find their names on MetLife's website, which your employer should have provided you with. But definitely go for that cleaning, you shouldn't be charged anything at your appointment. Good luck.
